Kagurazaka Dojo is located within a Buddhist Jodoshu temple, the Shojoin Houkokuji, which was constructed over 400 years ago.

Tucked away in a quiet residential street, one of its most striking features is its external appearance said to resemble the face of an owl.

In the heart of Tokyo, Kagurazaka is a unique area that maintains a traditional Japanese atmosphere infused with contemporary elements. Nowhere else will you find ancient temples and shrines quietly intermingling with a significant French presence and discreet ryotei restaurants.

Renowned for its geisha houses – several of which remain today – Kagurazaka has recently become a popular spot for tourists, both international and domestic.
